Addressing Health and Fitness During a Pandemic: Lessons Learned from the Field
Abstract: The pandemic presented us with a unique environmental challenge to health and fitness behavior change. This event created – and continues to present – new barriers for those individuals who desire improved health outcomes. However, as any health outcome requires meaningful behavior change, applied behavior analysis is well-suited to address common wellness needs. This presentation describes how a telehealth model can provide a means to an effective applied practice. A series of case studies will highlight the importance of pinpointing behavior and results, addressing personal bias and ethical concerns, and lessons learned while working with typical adults in an unprecedented time.
