Dear MOABA Members,

We are aware there are great concerns in the Missouri behavior analytic community as efforts across the state are being made to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We know your companies are faced with unprecedented circumstances and challenges.

There are many resources becoming available. Therefore, we have created a resource page on our website in an effort to ensure information is readily available to you. These resources are compiled from state and government agencies, national organizations, as well as from other state ABA chapters like ours. Information provided includes links to:

  • National and state guidance on the virus
  • Resources for clients and families
  • Business resources
  • Telehealth resources
  • Federal emergency legislative actions

We will be updating this as more resources and supports become available. We will also be posting resources on our social media. Please email us with information you may have that others may appreciate.

As we are faced with difficult decisions, let’s work together to ensure that we are fulfilling our responsibilities as behavior analysts and general members of our community. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board released a statement yesterday with ethical guidance for ABA providers during a pandemic. Currently, data and treatment recommendations from the government and major health organizations (e.g., CDC and WHO) are that we engage in social distancing. Some counties and cities also have enacted orders. We urge all Behavior Analytic organizations to do their part in upholding state and federal recommendations and mandates as well as BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code and Missouri Licensure Rules and Statute.

Thank you for all that you do in our great state of Missouri. Stay safe and be well.

Best wishes,

The MOABA Board
